Microbes can do more - this is the motto of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research's "Microbial Biofabrics for the Industrial Bioeconomy" funding measure. The goal is to identify microorganisms that have not previously been used industrially and to optimise them in order to enable new types of products or processes. Bacteria from the bacteroidetes group might have this potential. The "BaPro" project now wants to tap this potential.
