Nowadays we use plastics everywhere and thus the amount of plastics waste has increased enormously in the past years: in the year 2017 Germany alone has counted 6 Million tons of plastics waste! This rapid development screams for action. Researchers all over the world are investigating approaches to improve our current plastics policies. Strategies for sustainable recycling and upcycling of plastics are also developed in the laboratories of our MIX-UP partners Professor Blank and Professor Klankermayer.
