In the past two weeks, everwave's CollectiX garbage collection boat went on its first cleanup mission in 2021. Garbage carpets from Bosnia and Herzegovina attracted media attention at the beginning of the year. The wet winter weather ensured that the Drina and its tributaries overflowed with rubbish.
Together with partners such as Berky, DFKI, wildplastic, Landmarken AG and Kuehne + Nagel, everwave was able to set up the operation there at short notice. In the next step, recycling will play a role in closing the loop and recycling the collected material as sensibly as possible.
